Picacho Mountains - February 11, 2007

We went to three different petroglyph sites in the Picacho Mountains. The main site consisted of a hill of boulders that were literally covered in petroglyphs. These glyphs date from Archaic thru Hohokam to Pima.

We found many grids and squiggly lines, several different styles of big horn sheep, a couple of kokopellis an armadillo, and a road runner.
Four club members went, Robert, Mary, Chance and Monica. We had fun searching out other spots after the first one. The overcast day was perfect for photographing the glyphs and kept it cool for our hiking!
