Requirements for Saxophone Study
Non-Major Study: MUP 068/067
The program at Pima College is not designed for beginners on any instrument. Previous study on the instrument is required either as private study or previous experience in a band program at school. A working knowledge of all fingerings, pedagogy, and an ability to read music is required.
Major Study: MUP 167/168/177/178/267/268/277/278
Study as a Music Major at Pima College is designed to help the student achieve enough proficiency on the instrument to achieve an Associates Degree and/or gain acceptance into a major university studio.
An audition is required for acceptance which will cover the following material:
The student will be required to perform in the semester student recital and a jury. It is highly recommended that students also register for a full hour of lessons given the amount of material that will be covered.
