Astronomy is one of the most sublime fields of human investigation. The mind that grasps its facts and principles receives something of the enlargement and grandeur belonging to the science itself. |

AST 105: The Test 4 Preview sheet has been updated for this semester. Note also that the Answer Sheet for Assignment 9 is now accessible.
April 23, 2009
Due Dates for homework assignments and labs, along with test dates are now announced for both AST 102 and 105 students through to the end of the semester. Where you see "N/A," that homework or lab will not be assigned. AST 105 students: Take note of a couple differences from what is in your blue Course Outline.
The deadline (as distinct from Due Date) for Outside Activity credit is class time for Test 4. In other words, hand in any last-minute OA credit when you arrive. There will be no further time to do it and be accepted.
Two reminders for those intending to hand in a Book Report: The due date was Tues, April 21. Don't worry about late penalty points; you can make them up by earning Outside Activity credit. The bottom line is that by doing the Book Report, you have raised the bar for OA credit from 20 points to 30.

AST 105 Students: Go to the Announcements page for details on a good Outside Activity opportunity at the University. There is an upcoming talk by a Mars researcher on a topic we will be covering later in the semester regarding life on Earth and Mars - Might there be a connection?

Welcome to this website. It has been a great addition to my teaching of AST 101IN, AST 102IN, and AST 105IN. It is here to provide you information and documents when I'm not around personally to beseech.
Plan to return to this site often during the semester to keep up with announcements, to get test and assignment due dates, and to download and printout various documents you'll be needing.
