Mapping Concepts (ARC 265) is an introduction to the practical use of maps.  Included in the course are fundamental cartographic concepts, terminology, and exercises. Some concepts covered include topography, scale, aerial photograph interpretation, and grid systems including Latitude/Longitude, UTM and Public Land Survey.  Mapping Concepts is offered every semester.
