GPS (Global Positioning Systems) Fundamentals (ARC 281) is an introduction to the use of
GPS receivers in a field setting for non-technical applications. Through
hands-on instruction and outdoor assignments, students will learn the many
functions of a hand held GPS unit.
System configuration, data collection, and data transfer are
covered in the course. Students may bring their own or use one of
the Archaeology Centre's units. GPS is offered at least once every year.
