Flight Test Log 7
================================================================================
Summary
-------
Tests of night flying, subscale, using blue LEDs as light source. Control
was marginally improved over previous night tests that used a yellow-green
lightstick. Lighting still needs work.
Also, a new LiPo battery was tested, which has a built-in charge protection
circuit. The battery seemed to work OK as far as I could tell.

Test ID: 23
Date: 2005/04/14 (Thu)
Time: 20:40
Wind: Calm
Vehicle: SVC
Scale: 41 %
Mass: 236 g
Location: Pima West
Tested subscale SVC after dark with 4 high-intensity blue LEDs installed:
The vehicle was marginally easier to control than it was previously with
a yellow-green internal lightstick as a light source. Lighting still needs
work. Landing was good, no damage.
Except for its small size, the field is excellent, with a thick grass
surface.
This was also a test of a new flight battery:
Brand: ElectriFly
Part number: GPMP0810
Chemistry: Lithium polymer
Capacity: 2590 C (720 mAh)
Number of cells: 2
Voltage: 7.4 VDC
Mass: 39 g
The battery has separate connections for charge and discharge, and has a
built-in charge protection circuit.
