DESCRIPTION:
Annual or perennial, mostly forming low mats. Flowers white with dark
center, shaped like a butterfly to 1/8" wide. Flowers lack sepals
or petals and are contained in the dark center of the flowerlike cup.
Leaves simple, smooth-edged, oblong to 3/8" long. Euphorbiaceae (Spurge)
Family. NATURAL HISTORY: Flowers bloom spring and summer. Fifteen species of Euphorbia were found in the Tucson Mountains by Rondeau et al. (1996). |
