DESCRIPTION:
Also called Arizona Caltrop, Orange Caltrop, and Summer Poppy. Annual
to 3'. Flowers (to 2.5" wide) yellow-orange with reddish center,
5 petals (not 4 as in Mexican gold poppy),
and orange anthers. Leaves pinnately compound, opposite to 2.5" long.
Stems and leaves hairy. Zygophyllaceae (Caltrop) Family.NATURAL HISTORY: Flowers bloom August to November. |
