Cockscomb Hedgehog Cactus (Echinocereus fasciculatus)
hedgehog cactusDESCRIPTION: Commonly grows to 20" tall and has multiple, ribbed stems. Spine base and cluster nearly round. Each areole has 2-4 central spines (one longer than others) and 12-14 shorter radial spines. Flowers are purplish.
NATURAL HISTORY: Flowers bloom in spring.
