DESCRIPTION:
WS=1.2 - 1.6" (30-40 mm). Forewing outer margin is concave
below the apex. Upper surface black with white spots; base of wings
show some orangish.
Family Nymphalidae, Subfamily Nymphalinae.
NATURAL HISTORY: Adults fly all year. Males often patrol short sections
of trail or wash, staying low. Larvae feed on plants in the low
ancanthus family. |
