DESCRIPTION: body (without tail) up to 2" long. Recognized by dark stripes running along underside of thick tail.
NATURAL HISTORY: Venomous. This is the most common scorpion in Arizona. Prefers resting under rocks during the day, coming out at night to feed. See also General natural history of scorpions and section on Venomous Animals.
