Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae)
DESCRIPTION: WS=2-3" (50-80mm). Upper surface is bright orange with white spots ringed with black; lower surface of hindwing shows elongated, silver spots.
Family Nymphalidae, Subfamily Heliconiinae.
NATURAL HISTORY: Adults most commonly seen April-October, but may be seen during all months. Caterpillars feed only on passion vines.
