Dorantes longtail witn closed and open wingsDESCRIPTION: WS=1.4 - 1.75" (36-46 mm). Tailed. Body, wings, and tail brown. Forewings have yellow spots. Wing fringes checkered. Usually lands with wings closed.
Family Hesperiidae, Subfamily Pyrginae.
NATURAL HISTORY: Adults fly mostly in late summer and fall. Larvae feed on beggar ticks and legumes.
