DESCRIPTION:
WS=1.8-2.5" (48-66mm). Upper surface is clear yellow in male and either
clear yellow or white in female; lower surface has 2 pink-rimmed silver
spots in center of hindwing in both sexes. Females have hollow, black
cell spot in forewing.Family Pieridae, Subfamily Coliadinae NATURAL HISTORY: This is the most common large sulphur seen in this region. Adults seen March to January but are most commonly seen during the monsoon summer and fall. Caterpillars feed on Cassias. |
