Tree Lizard (Urosaurus ornatus)

DESCRIPTION: L=5.5" (14cm) including tail. Overall brown to dark gray (see picture). Down the middle of the back, see two bands of larger scales with a a band of smaller scales between. Adult males have orange or blue throat and blue belly patches. Adult females may have orange or yellow throat, but not blue belly patches.
NATURAL HISTORY: Carnivorous, usually feeding on arthropods. Spends most time in trees or on large rocks. Diurnal. Frequently displays head-bobbing and push-up behavior.
