DESCRIPTION: L=8" (20cm). Sexes similar. Overall brownish-gray with rust-colored crown and undertail coverts and a dark spot on breast.
SONG
: is a series of slurred notes.
NATURAL HISTORY: Feeds on seeds and insects, usually on the ground, and often under shrubs and trees where it can be heard scratching with both feet at the same time.
