- Create a New Assessment
- Find a performance objective, topic, skill, etc. with which students have difficulty and that you want to try to improve.
- Choose an Outcome
that best matches what you want to assess.
- for a Single Course (e.g., BIO 201) or a Group of Courses (BIO 201, 202).
- Create an Assessment Tool with Grading Rubric and Criteria for Success.
- Create an Action Plan and submit to the Discipline Leader.
- Conduct Assessment.
- Carry out the assessment in relevant classes.
- Collect, Summarize, Share, and Discuss Results
- Send Discipline Leader a brief summary of discussions
- Report Results
- Did the assessment give useful results?
- If No: design a new assessment method and criteria.
- If Yes: were criteria met?
- If Yes: you have "closed the loop" on this assessment and can now discuss new outcome to assess in the future.
- If No: determine one or more changes in the course/program to improve student success and then reassess.
- Submit a new Action Plan to Discipline Leader
- Implement Action Plan
- Re-Assessment
- Implement changes in the course/program to improve student success.
