Your PowerPoint presentation should have the following sections: Introduction, Methods/Results, Discussion
- Title Slide
- title, name(s), relevant picture(s)
- Background Information
- research question
- biological interest and background info on species, etc. with pictures
- hypotheses, deductions, variables
- Methods
- dates/times, location
- sample size
- what data were collected and how
- data analysis
- Results
- present and explain tables and graphs including totals, averages, percentages, whether the data were significantly
different, etc.
- state the answer(s) to your question (tentative conclusions). For example: There were significantly more (2.2 times more)
saguaros on the south side (106 per 10,000 square meters) compared to the
north side (48) of the hill.
- Causal Question
- ask why there might or might not be a significant difference. For example:
Why were there significantly more saguaros on the south side of the hill
compared to the north side?
- Multiple Hypotheses
- state hypothesis 1 and include supporting information from literature/critical thinking
- state hypothesis 2 and include supporting information from literature/critical thinking
- etc.
- Ways to Improve/Extend Study
- state what you could do differently to improve/extend your study
