Debra H. Rogers is the Senior International Trade Specialist for the U.S. Department of Commerce based in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Rogers gave a talk about Education and the International Markets at the NAFSA Wisconsin/Minnesota State Conference in April 2004. She was actively involved in the planning process for the Study Illinois Consortia. Her expertise will add to our discussions in advocating international education in the State of Arizona. Also, Ms. Rogers will just have returned from an educational trip to Thailand prior to speaking at our meeting, and she will share her insights and impression.
Benjamin Ousley is the Consular Section Chief at the United States Consulate in Nogales, Sonora Mexico. He has hosted international educators visiting the Consulate and he is our main contact for the Consulate visit the day prior to the meeting. Mr. Ousley will speak to our theme of advocacy from the US State Department perspective.
David Fitzsimmons is the award-winning editorial cartoonist of The Arizona Daily Star. Since 1986, his political cartoons have been nationally recognized for their excellence. A Pulitzer Prize finalist in 1988, Fitz has been judged by the Arizona Press Club to be the best political cartoonist in the state for several years in a row. Fitzsimmon's quick-sketch presentations have been described as "A blast!", "Dennis Miller meets pictionary!", and "More fun than Mark Russell with a magic marker and a flipchart!"
