Pima Community College offers a variety of educational opportunities for those who wish to prepare for health care careers. Each nursing and allied health program is designed to offer a combination of technical and general education courses. The technical courses are both didactic and clinical, requiring students to apply knowledge in a health care setting. The programs are usually two years in length and lead to an Associate in Science Degree. The College also offers shorter College Credit Certificate and Vocational Credit Certificate Programs in health care fields.
The mission of Health Related Professions Division is to provide accessible, affordable, high quality education by keeping the learner's needs at the center of decision-making and working in partnership with our dynamic, multi-cultural community. The Health Related Profession Division at Pima Community College is well known in the Southern Arizona health care community for its satisfied, well-prepared students who, through their extraordinarily positive experience at PCCD have acquired the needed knowledge and skills to be successful in their ongoing academic and career pursuits.
In fact, our faculty and staff are empowered to work within an environment that encourages creativity, risk-taking and accountability, and it is they who are responsible for the daily application of their individual and collective talents to fulfill the division's mission.
I wish you the greatest success in the pursuit of your education, and hope that Pima County Community College can be an integral part of your future success.
Sincerely,
Richard Patze Division Dean
