Raccoon (Procyon lotor)
raccoonDESCRIPTION: Wt= 25 lbs (11 kg) or more, males being larger than females. Overall grayish-brown, with ringed tail and a dark mask over the eyes.
NATURAL HISTORY: Omnivorous. Nocturnal. Solitary, although may show communal denning and will congregate at food sources. Most commonly seen in riparian areas, inclusing Tucson's riparian and even urban areas.
