Slender Phlox (Microsteris gracilis)

DESCRIPTION: Annual to 8". Flowers to 1/2" long and are lavender to rose in color. Flowers are tubular with 5 petal lobes (notched in middle). Leaves simple, smooth-edged, lance-shaped, and opposite. Stems have brownish, sticky sections. Polemoniaceae (Phlox) Family.
NATURAL HISTORY: Flowers bloom February to May. Check sticky sections of stem for insects stuck to them.
