DESCRIPTION:
Perennial to 2'. Flowers to 3" wide, orange to yellow to white with
purple to black color in center. Flowers have 6 large stamens and the
stigma has 3 lobes. Leaves simple, grass-like, grayish-green. Liliaceae
(Lily) Family.NATURAL HISTORY: Flowers bloom in spring. "Mariposa" comes from the Spanish word for "butterfly." |
