If you have a flowering plant that you want to identify, go to the set of thumbnails for the flower color of your plant. Within a color, the plants are sorted by growth form (first trees then agaves/cactuses then shrubs/wildflowers/others, ). Flower colors vary from individual to individual, place to place, and with age within an individual. Also, flower colors vary along a continuum and are seen differently by different people. Therefore, if you see a species with a certain flower color, but don't find it among the plants listed with that flower color, look also at the plants with similar flower colors. Here is how I categorized flower color:

• Red flowers vary from orangish-red to reddish to reddish-purple
• Orange flowers are orangish.
• Yellow flowers range from pale yellow to bright yellow to yellowish-orange.
• White/Green flowers vary from greenish to whitish to pale yellowish to pale pinkish.
• Pink flowers vary from pinkish to violet.
• Blue flowers vary from purplish to bluish.
