 DESCRIPTION:
Perennial to 30' including flower stalk. Flowers to 2" long, creamy
white, bell-shaped, in clusters along tall flowering stalk. Seed capsule
is cylindrical in shape, 3-celled, brown, often with holes drilled by
escaping yucca moth larvae. Leaves in rosettes, but plant may have a "trunk".
Leaves are long (2.5') with a sharp point at tip. Agavaceae (Agave) Family.
NATURAL HISTORY: Flowers bloom spring and summer. Leaves used for basket
making; roots (amole) used for soap. Often planted for landscaping. |
