| Desert Rose Mallow (Hibiscus coulteri) | |
DESCRIPTION:
Perennial subshrub to 4'. Flowers to 2" wide and are yellowish-white
with reddish area at the base. Flowers have 5 rounded petals forming a
cup-like structure. Stamens are joined at the base and flare out along
the style which is topped with 5 reddish-purple stigma lobes. Leaves are
simple, toothed, and lobed to 1" long (basal leaves are not lobed
and are up to 1.5" long. Malvaceae (Mallow) Family.NATURAL HISTORY: Flowers may bloom throughout year. |
