DESCRIPTION:
WS=1-1.5" (27-40mm). Upperside white (some individuals yellowish)
with reddish-orange tips on the forewings surrounded by wide, black border
(unlike the white markings that interrupt the black border on the tip
margin of the Desert Orangetip). Underside
of hindwings with dark green marbling.
Family Pieridae, Subfamily Pierinae. NATURAL HISTORY: Adults fly January to April. Larvae feed on various mustard species (e.g., jewelflower and london rocket). |
